Who we are

Quotes and Poems (quotesandpoems.com) is an independent reading site. We are responsible for the data described on this page. A contact email will be published on the contact page shortly.

What we collect

When you read the site. The site is a set of static pages served by Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages). To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. We do not see this as a list of named visitors, and we do not combine it with any other data.

Fonts. The site's typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore contacts Google's servers, which receive your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.

Search. The site search runs in your own browser. What you type is not sent to us or stored.

When you email us. If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and your message. We use them only to answer you and to fix the page you wrote about.

We do not collect anything else. We do not have user accounts, comment boxes, newsletters or payment forms.

Cookies and statistics

We do not set any cookies.

If we switch on visitor statistics, we will use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. Until then, no statistics script runs on the site. This page will be updated to say so if that changes.

Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie (for example __cf_bm) when its bot protection checks a request. That cookie is set by Cloudflare to block automated attacks, not by us, and it is not used for advertising.

There are no ads, no advertising cookies and no social media trackers on the site.

How long we keep data

• Emails: up to two years after the conversation ends, then deleted, unless a copyright question needs a longer record.
• Cloudflare request logs: kept by Cloudflare for its own short security and delivery periods, set out in Cloudflare's own policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under UK or EU data protection law), you can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. In practice the only personal data we hold is email you have sent us. Write to us and we will answer within one month.

You can also complain to your local data protection authority, such as the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK.

We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone for marketing.
